Evan Arceneau
Heath Consular

Basics
A Health Consular at the tender age of seventeen, Evan is very very smart, quite arrogant, inquisitive by nature, and really not all that good with people, all wrapped up in a demeanour he likes to think is cool-headed. So far his life has consisted of school, school and some more school, and yet he still thinks he pretty much knows everything. He's trying to get himself out there in the world, having finished his basic schooling and started on a hunt for a working internship or mentorship in either architecture or engineering.

Known languages
Caristian, Ignese, and a small amount of Enish.

Friends
Evan doesn't make friends easily. He looks down on people he thinks are dumb or driven primarily by emotions, and aside from that he holds his cards close to his chest when it comes to interpersonal relationships. He's better at acquaintances than friends.

He'd probably get on well with other smartasses, or people who can fascinate him in some manner, provided they weren't too boisterous. He'd be drawn to people like himself, but (unbeknownst to him) he'd probably get on with a more diverse range of folks, given some time to get a variety of youthful faux pas out of his system. He'd be slightly more inclined to make friends with people older than him than younger than him. Once he is a friend, he's snarky but faithful.

Lovers
Evan's got the double-whammy perfect storm of having grown up in a family that doesn't express a lot of public affection, and being by nature pretty unromantic. Anyone in a relationship with him would have a really hard time if they expected unending professions of love and adoration.

That said, he's still a teenage boy! If anyone gave him a case of the old banana-in-your-pocket, he'd probably do his best to follow up, though he wouldn't really be cognizant of the broader emotional implications on more than an intellectual level.

Enemies
He wouldn't be especially prone to making enemies -- that is to say, under his cool skin and turrible social skills, he basically thinks well of people. He may look down on a lot of them, but unless someone does something really heinous to him he'd end up ignoring them rather than hating them. This is partially because being ignored is the one thing that drives him the craziest, so he sort of defaults to assuming that it gets under everyone's skin like it gets under his...

Other
Evan would latch right onto someone who offered him any sort of mentorship, provided he respected them. He loves learning and anyone who can dangle a mystery above his head would find themselves being pestered by the little dude. I think for this reason, if it ever came up that he had a chance to really get involved with the hunting-down of the relic, it'd be a lot of fun. He's implacable, and he loves using his massive brains.

Evan also has only the most preliminary understanding of the issues between the Rebellion and the Queen. Politics isn't a subject he's ever gotten into studying, being more of a sciences sort, and so he tends to make snap judgements about both sides. He'd casually call himself faithful to the Queen and he has a sort of passing contempt for the "rabble-rousing" the Rebellion does, but honestly, he could go either way if someone took the time to argue with him over the whats and the whys. It could be a wicked entertaining time to play him off of someone in the Rebellion, although I'm not sure how this would occur given that he's not really someone who would go seeking them out. Likewise, if he were taken under the wing of someone staunchly loyal to the Queen, he'd probably end up going that way himself.

Active Threads
(none yet; hit me up, brah!)

I hope this isn't too pre-emptive. Evan's not quite been given the Delilah Stamp of Approval yet.

I'm all up in your junk...it's nice here ^_^

Well, after a quick read of Evan's history, Kelly could possibly try to recruit him to the Ignis military. The superiors would see a young adult with excellent grades and work ethic and besides that, Kelly would see a Gray and an opportunity to get close with another family member--to exploit them.

Whelp, I know that we'd been talking about not RPing with one another, but I really want to snag a plot with you on this board at some point.

If I don't wind up snagging another character -- I promised myself not to make another one for at least a couple of months -- then I think that since Haruna's in Ignis, at least we both have the same continent going for us.

Haruna's upbringing at her Elementalist Temple means that -- at least before she was forced to travel at ten or twelve -- she was exposed to a very cerebral and spiritual community. It might be a nice antipode, in a way, to Evan's cerebral but isolated upbringing. We both want to get our characters interested in the Relic plot, and I think that since Haruna was brought up in a spiritual place that dwelt backwards in time, she'd have the myths of the Relic and the knowledge of Terra to be useful in hunting things down. Right now she's missing the hook -- the knowledge that it's actively being sought after, and the knowledge that others take it for a literal item rather than a metaphor for cohesion of being and of community (right now that's what the relic means to her.) If Evan gets involved in the hunt, Haruna might prove a resource regarding that.

She's also been introduced to Kelly, which means that there's another gray-connection, as it were. X3

I think they'd get along abhorrently, but if forced together for the sake of mutual gain, they might make an inroads to cooperation. If you're interested, gimme a holler!

My junk is the best junk. u_u Jayne, I was thinking about how Evan would relate to Kelly. I think from the way Kelly presents himself, he would be someone that Evan would really respect as analytical and intelligent and all around a good role model. (Never tell him that Kelly's secretly got a bit of the ol' softie to him!) Evan's not hugely fond of the military, as he doesn't think it'll help him reach his goals, but depending on how determined and persistent Kelly is... well, it'd be fun to play with! Especially if Kelly could give it a 'it could help you make connections' bent.

Dray, I think it'd be neat to get Haruna and Evan both on the tail of the Relic. > It'd be the only way I could see 'em getting along. Well, maybe all the better to have them meet some way ahead of time, I guess! Develop a dislike and then find themselves working with one another!
