The Basics

Name: Draven Rayn Willett
Age: 25
Element: Fire
Classification: Consular
Birth Kingdom: Unknown
Home Kingdom: Terra

Appearance

Playby: Draven Somerhalder
Appearance: A marble god is what some would say about Draven’s body. Draven is wide at the shoulders then tapering down to a thin waist. A perfect V that welcomes the eyes and the hands of the ladies. His skin is almost perfect expect for the whip marks on his back. Not many appear there, but enough that Draven hides them under his shirt. A small birth mark also mars his skin that of a dancing flame. The mark is on his thigh and looks almost like a tattoo.

Personality

Personality: Free spirit is something you would never say about Draven. His life has been hard and it shows in the way he speaks to others. He has some trouble with being a bit rude and to honest about things that he should really hold his tongue on. A gentle heart beats in his chest but most only see the beaten down exterior. As a young boy Draven would pick fights with the other slave in the hope that he would end up dead. Disappear would always rise when he would live through almost all the fights.

The shine of laughter doesn’t dance in Draven’s eyes any longer for fear that he might lose himself in his joy. That fear brings with it a kinda paranoia. Draven is always looking around to see if someone is watching him or after him. The life of a slave has made him a bit off, but to others that have seen this life it is nothing new.

Draven tries to hide who he is behind the gruffness of his voice and the glare of his eyes but people still see the kindness he is willing to show. To share his last scrap of bread or to help someone that needs it. Not many would believe he could be so gentle. Along with the gentle there comes a heated anger. A temper that can sometimes explode and burn out of control.

A hot temper that has gotten him beaten on more than one occasion, fear helps to feed this fire. Draven can only hide the tremors for so long and soon he is a fire out of control. Abuse has left Draven with little heart left to give and even less confidence in himself to see that he has a talent for art.

Likes:

  • Art- it can be anything and even though people judge it, it doesn’t change the outcome of the piece.

  • Sunset/Rise- Bleeding of colors and the heat of the sun bring to his mind a simple memory. One memory of such great joy that Draven can’t help but hold on to it. A simple face with long dark hair and amazing blue eyes.

  • Music- Ups and downs, the sway of bodies to the sound of the music. The first time he heard such music was the night he was taken out of the mines and brought to the life of being a male slave to a rather rich woman.

Dislikes:

  • Masters- The way they abuse those that can’t help themselves.

  • Winter- For nothing can stay warm in such cold.

  • Spiders- in the mines large spiders would make webs and when you walked through them they would latch onto your skin. Bites would mark Draven’s skin for two or three nights after.

  • Close Spaces- After being in the mines for so long Draven has a slight fear of closed in spaces. It creeps up on him and the fear brings forth such anger that fire has been known to build in his hands.

Elemental Strengths
  • Building-- Draven uses the anger and emoitions of his life to build his fire within himself. While doing this the fire builds and then runs into his hands to be used something like a weapon. It helps him to control the fire using his hands.

  • Temperature- As we all know fire comes in all kinda of temperatures. Colors go with the flames and this is where Draven first found his love for art and the way colors blended. When he builds his flames he can also control the temperature of the flames.

Elemental Weaknesses
  • Control- Draven has control over the burning fire not the calm controlled fire. When he is building the fire he has complete control of what he wants the fire to do, but when it is a calm fire he struggles to control where the flame might go.

  • Emotion- When he allows his emotions to control him Draven has a very bad habit of losing control over his element. It isn’t often that Draven allows himself to really feel the darkness in his soul but when he does the fire seems to have a mind of its own. Burning hotter than Draven wants or snaking out and catching a sheet on fire.

Background

Family:
Mother – Serena Millett -50 -Consular
Father – Traven Millett -56 -Consular
Siblings – A younger sister
Other -

History: A light an carefree child runs through his home a toddler that is being chased by his father. A giggle passes his lips and Draven falls to the ground, just before he hits his father’s hands catch him and toss him into the air. The feel of the wind running through him hair brings about another round of laughter. To say that Draven looks like his father is too simple a term. Love runs through the small house, a simple spark of love that can be so open that others feel it. The kind of love that brings a smile to a strangers face even if they don’t understand why. Draven as a toddler was a trouble maker always playing with fire and not getting burned, it was a shock to his parents that at the age of three he could and would play with fire. The fire called to Draven and he answered, it was something deep in him that wanted nothing more than to be close to the element.
Around the age of five Draven got into a fight with a neighbors little boy and when the anger in him grew to hot he let it out. Fire blasted through him and rammed into the boy. Thankfully the boy was also fire, but the damage was done. The little boy would carry the scars for the rest of his life. Draven didn’t understand then what had been so bad. He was only defending his family. Truth was that Draven had no control over the fire at this point, he only listened to what his inner flame wanted.

Two years later Draven had another fight with a boy twice his age, this one was ready for the build of the fire and tried to blast it right back at Draven but somehow it turned back on the boy. This time the child didn’t have scars, just the image of fire taking him over. This fight was about Draven’s younger sister, a child that was no older than two. These two fights showed Draven that he had to control his element and sooner rather than later. It is at this point that he really started to work on controlling his fire. It still went out of control and Draven had to deal with it, but he was trying.

The first thing Draven can recall in his life is darkness; it is all around him and seems to swallow him whole. The next thing is pain, the kind that tears something inside of your heart and you never think you will be whole again. Draven can’t recall his home or his parents. That part of his memories is a great abyss. Nothing seems to come to mind until he is around the age of ten and the whip is making contact with his back for the first time.

Draven can recall the pain and the feel of the blood oozing down his back. The fear that he might never make it out of what he deems the darkness. Nothing could prepare a child for the hell he was placed in. What was it about Draven that called to the man and woman that took him? No one can tell him and even if he could open his mouth to speak it would come out a fumbled mess of words. So Draven finds that it is easiest to hold his tongue unless he feels that spark in himself.
At the age of twelve he found himself in a mine, digging for something that made no sense to him. The axe weighed more than his whole body did, but Draven kept moving. Keeping up with people older than himself.

Time moved so slow in the minds, but Draven learned while he was there. The way to speak and to hold back what you really thought. A way to earn a little money to buy food. Nothing would prepare him for what would come next in his life but Draven took all the darkness and put it in a box in his mind. Hiding that bright child that would have blossomed if he hadn't been taken.

The pain and labor didn't stop for many years, that is until he came into his power. That night would be like no other and Draven loves the memory of that night. The one time he took the upper hand with his master and finally ran away. The fire roared to life and Draven watched as his master started to burn. The way his skin bubbled and melted in places, leaving the man with charred hair and little skin left over his face. After only a moment Draven bolted and didn't stop.

A year later at the age of fifteen he found himself homeless and wondering the streets. Not an easy life for a child. Draven found work were he could and took what he couldn't. A simple thief didn't really set right with Draven but you do what you have to to live.

Five long years later Draven found himself in a life he hated and wanting nothing more than to be better. At that time he was working on getting fire wood of all things. Anger had slashed through him and Draven found himself burning the wood. An image appeared and that is how he found his talent. That night he worked for hours on trying to recreate the effect. Not many of them really worked, but Draven didn't give up.

The first pieces sound for a few coin, enough to get him a cold shower and a bed for a night. Draven was so happy to be on a bed that he almost cried. That night he tried again with the fire, but it didn't want to work with him. Over the next few years he would move from place to place working on the art and finding it a little easier to work with the fire and the art.

Now at twenty-five he finds that he can five times out of twenty do a pretty good image. It takes a lot of energy to do a simple image but Draven finds it calms him a great deal. Winters have never been one of Draven’s favorite times of year. When he was young he would almost freeze to death in the mines. As he aged he learned to use the burn inside of him to keep warm. It helped that one of the fire miners helped Draven through his second winter. The first he almost died from the cold. When he reached Consular he really thought things would change for him, but they really didn’t. Yes he had to live up to a higher standard but it wasn’t enough for others. A slave getting to this level was unheard of and Draven wanted to live up to his standard but didn’t really know how. So he wanted to set out to find someone that might help him understand what was needed.

OOC

RP Sample: Pain laced through his mind and Draven dropped to the floor of the mine. Dust and dirt coving his already dirty skin, it is times like this that Draven wanted nothing more than to die. The bite of the whip ragged through him and he bite into his cheek to stop the scream that wanted to tear through him. The sweet tang of blood flooded his mouth and Draven knew he had bitten to hard again. Two more lashes and he lay bloody and sweat covered from the fever that had already started to build again. A sweet voice entered his mind and Draven’s broken mind through it is mothers.

“Stop before you kill the boy.”

The woman stood before Draven and he seen the elegance of her clothes. At that moment he knew this woman didn’t know hard work or how to deal with such pain. A single tear ran down her beautiful face and Draven wanted to catch that lucky tear. To hold such beauty wasn’t something he ever wanted to think about. He knew he would die in these mines.

“He has to learn his place, Ma’ Lady”

“His place isn’t in this mine.”

Before his mind could function right she placed her hand on his cheek and Draven recoiled from her. The pain in his mind came forward and he feared he would lose control again. With the little strength he had he shook his head at her. NO she couldn’t be kind to him, the darkness wouldn’t allow such things. A shhh came from her ruby lips and Draven calmed a little and allowed her to touch his cheek. It wasn’t really fear that had him wondering what she wanted with him. At his age many of the boys had been taken away.

“Have him taken to my house.”

She stood and took the soft comfort with her. Draven could feel blood oozing out of his wounds and wondered if he might die this time. He watched as she left the mine and Draven fell into a haze of heat and shocking cold. The infection from the last beating he took was taking hold and he didn’t think he would live through it.

What day was it? What time? Draven had no idea but he could feel a bed under him and wondered how this could be. For the last ten years he had slept on a rag of a blanket and straw. Nothing could prepare him for such comfort. He bolted upright and then felt the room swim and he went right back down onto his back. Wait…How was that possible if he had been beat? With a shaking hand he moved his hand down the bed to his back and found it covered with bandages.
Where the hell was he? That was a question he really needed to get answered. A simple scent entered the room and Draven cracked open his eyes. The woman..She was standing at the end of his bed with a slight smile on her lips.

“You are awake I see.” She moved to the side of the bed and then sat beside him. “How are you feeling? The infection almost killed you. Did you know that you died at least three times on the way over to the house?”

All Draven could do was shake his head no. He had died and yet here he was. Why? Was the world so cruel that they wanted him to deal with more of this hell he lived in. The soft touch of a hand and Draven tried to move away but the soft touch turned to steal and Draven knew he had just changed masters. This wouldn’t be the life he wanted and he didn’t know if he could bare to be what she wanted of him.

“I have saved you, and for this you will pay me. You see you cost me a large sum of money that I intend to get back.” She stroked his cheek. “You see you are so handsome and so many want to be loved by one such as you. So fresh and unspoiled.”

With this she leaned into him and kisses his lips. Hers so soft compared to his, Draven didn’t know what to do so he lay still allowing her to take her time. To teach him to move his lips to hers, open when she wanted him to. Maybe he could be her slave? That though had his mind in a uproar. After a few moments he could tell that she was getting worked up but his mind was fadeing again and everything went black.
