Ships of Privateers, commonly known as Pirates, have always sailed the waters of the Undan and Glacien seas. For people who do not wish to deal with the heavily expensive and public ways of travel via the Undan Navy, it is these rogue ships that they turn to. While they may not be the cleanest of ships, nor the most...polite...they sail well and their captains are always looking to gain more "legal" funds via travelers. Typically these ships are illegal slave traders, plunderers, and other not so polite things, but a traveller is not so likely to see these goings on, unless of course, they are not a willing traveler.
With the attacks by the Undan Navy on Glacien shores, some ships and their captains have deserted the Navy to join the ranks of the Pirates of the Seas over continuing attacks, thinking they have better things to do than attack their former brothers. It doesn't always go well with the crew, leaving the Navy, but sometimes a Captain can be persuasive.
It was on one such ship from the former Navy that has caused a buzz all throughout Carista. Aboard the Wanderer, Captain Ivan Cardenas, known as the Silvertongue of the Sea, has had ill luck with his crew, mutiny always seeing to be on the horizon over the ways of piracy. Thus, the Wanderer took up more passengers than originally intended from South Glacies. But they were no ordinary passengers, they were four members of the Ventus Brotherhood, shrouded in black. The crew dared not ask any questions of the Brothers, but the Captain managed to get the youngest alone and engaged in a fast paced conversation. It was from that conversation that the Silver-tongue of the Sea learned of the rumors, and of the Brothers' destination...
A temple in Terra, long since over grown by weeds and rocks fallen from mudslides and moved by earthquakes created in wars long passed. But what was more interesting, was the legend of the Temple that Silvertounge learned from an old woman while in port to re-stock the ship. The Temple in Terra was the only in the Kingdom dedicated to the Creator, and possibly the resting place of the Relic.
With power within his grasp, Captain Ivan Silvertongue rushed the Brothers to Terra as quickly as possible, though did not manage to find them when the Wanderer docked. However, Ivan and his crew are not the only ship headed there now. The old woman at the port behind them was not one to keep quiet. Now, it seems as if every ship in search of power and glory is headed to Terra -- Navy, Pirate, and general citizen alike.

This is an optional mini-plot for the month of December. Any thread started in December may have this plot influence their thread. Threads currently active may also choose to incorporate this in their plot. For new threads, a good technique to keep the timeline in place might be to put something like the following at the opening of the thread. "This thread occurs X time after (previous thread including character) and X time after the Rumor of Terra reached the ears of the public."
If you'd like this to influence your character or their backstory, feel free to tell us how here! Were they kidnaped to be sold as slaves? Was the ship they were traveling on change course to Terra?
