As does
Haruna Jun Lei!
Right now I have a number of NPC's that are important to Haruna that are on the lurk, and I would be more than happy to pass them off to people who find their concept interesting. This has the secondary effect of drawing more interest to Terra, which I think is one of the most compelling areas of Carista!
Kei Niva - Earth Master - Female - 44
(Note that Kei will need a petition for element and level of control when applying)
Kei Niva is a hardass and a badass Earth Master, one of the council at the Haikar Elementalist Temple before it was disbanded. On the side she raised a gaggle of orphans, gardened, and maintained a loving relationship with Tobi Yu Bei. She was last seen three years ago in Northern Terra, defending a sister Temple against an Ignis soldier raid on the guerrilla fighters taking refuge there. She's Haruna's mom and everything else is up to you.
Tobi Yu Bei - Health Consular - Female - 47
(Note that Tobi will need a petition for element and level of control when applying)
Tobi Yu Bei is a gentle soul interested in dula/midwife practices, caring for children, and preaching Elementalist connectedness with community. She was a part of the Elementalist Temple in the Terran land-bridge city of Haikar before she was forced to escape. In her spare time she liked to weave cloth, raise her orphan-gaggle, and keep her partner Kei Niva content. Tobi was last seen two years ago, travelling around Northern Terra assisting guerrilla fighters to mend wounds when she was captured by Ignis soldiers. She is Haruna's other mom and you can decide what else she's up to these days!
Orphan Gaggle - Various Elements at Various Levels - 14-22
Haruna's siblings are a widely varying batch. Since Haikar was a port city, the heritage of these children can be as far-flung as you like, though they would all be raised Elementalist, believing in care for community, philosophy and religious history, and good, hard work. Most were scattered around Northern Terra in the last two to three years, and all would have been involved in defending Terra in their own small ways. Gai Hwan and Gai Em are notable for being twins, but the rest are up to your discretion.
Ryan North - Element/Level up to you, probably not Fire though - ~23-24
Ryan North was originally an Ignis soldier who was part of an intelligence-gathering cell of three people, meant to infiltrate the Terran guerrilla network. He went over to the Terran side when he discovered just how bad the situation was getting two years ago, and sabotaged an attack initiated by his compatriots on a group that Haruna was working with. Haruna and Ryan had become fast friends and she argued for his life, sparing him when the other two soldiers were killed. Ryan was kept as a hostage and exchanged for Terran prisoners at the end of the war. Back in Ignis, he has sent a message to Haruna looking for help, though for what -- that's up to you. He may or may not be involved with the Ignis rebels, and he may or may not be involved with the Relic hunt.
**
eta: I should probably add that there's probably a bit of an unrequited crush on Haruna's part towards Ryan, though that's optional, of course!
Various Elementalist Temple Masters and clergy from Haikar Temple and the unnamed Temple in Northern Terra
Terra is largely creationist in its belief system, but the Elementalist Temples Haruna hails from preach universal connectedness amongst the living and spirits past, equality, higher learning, and religious history/mythology. These members stress community and fold the need for team-work into almost every lesson. They also are homes to various trades and theoretical studies.
When Haikar was retaken by Terran soldiers about seven years ago, the Temple Masters divided up the loot and the people living within and attempted to escape the city, as fighting had intensified past the point of tolerance. Some fled south to Ramkarn, some fled north. They may have some incredibly valuable items: ancient tomes of a religious nature, tapestries, bronze idols, and so on. Haikar Temple is now razed to the ground, along with the rest of the city, some time last year when the entire land-bridge was seared into a wasteland.
The Northern Temple (as yet unnamed, but likely near or in a city in northern Terra) was more militantly protective of the surrounding villages, and actively taught warfare tactics to all who came looking for safety. Mostly carved into the side of canyon walls, this Temple was attacked by surprise about three years ago and also razed by Ignis soldiers. Some Masters and clergy, as well as villagers taking refuge within, may have escaped, though it's hard to say whether anything of value survived the fires.
If any of these sound interesting to you, drop me a PM and let me know! I'd be delighted to toss ideas back and forth and thread with you -- more threads! Must happen!
